ECOBONE
Advanced Synthetic Bone Grafts by Supercritical Technology
ECOBONE project aims at achieving the transfer to the market of the research results of two synthetic scaffolds (ECOBONE and ECOBONE Premium) for bone regeneration. These scaffolds are capable of responding to the growing demand in terms of number (availability) and efficacy (useful life) of bone implants, derived from the increased longevity of the population worldwide.
Technological innovations patented by the project team will be used for the unique manufacturing of scaffolds in terms of processability window, the quality of the product obtained under sterile conditions and under environmentally friendly conditions. The modulation of the degradation rate of the product to biorelevant time periods and/or the efficient use of biologically active agents of autologous origin are other competitive advantages compared to the rest of commercial alternatives.
The project is cofunded by the Xunta de Galicia in the framework of the Resolution from Axencia Galega de Innovación of 9th February 2021 (Ignicia Programme).
What we do
Within the framework of ECOBONE project, technical validations of products and production will be carried out and a commercialization strategy will be implemented for the licensing of the scaffold production technology.
