BIOAEROGEL2HEAL
Engineering of Aerogels for Advanced Biomedical Uses
BIOAEROGEL2HEAL project will develop innovative materials using green technologies especially adapted to the demands from the healthcare system linked to the ageing of the population, specifically intended for regenerative medicine, management of chronic wounds and adherence in polymedicated patients.
Advanced materials will be obtained by deploying a translational research platform to establish genuine processing methods adapted to the specific applications. These products can significantly contribute to find scientific-technological solutions to the specific challenge Health, Demographic Changes and Welfare of the Spanish Strategy of Science and Technology and Innovation and aligned with the specific Horizon Europe Framework Programme of the European Union.
This project with grant reference PID2020-120010RB-I00 is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) and by ERDF/EU.
What we do
BIOAEROGEL2HEAL targets materials endowed with improved performance and enhanced durability to become the next-generation of safe, predictable and reproducible medical products specifically intended for regenerative medicine, management of chronic wounds and adherence in polymedicated patients.
Impact
To improve the quality of life of the Spanish population.
To reduce the sociosanitary costs in Spain that already represents 6% of the GDP.
